Casco Antiguo, Altea

In order to fully know AlteArte®, you first have to learn about Altea, the Mediterranean village where it's located, for the heart and soul of both are inexplicably intertwined. We feel that AlteArte® is a unique and special place, but that's partly due to the fact that it's located in Spain's little paradise.

Altea has been known for years as a haven for artists, and sought refuge here have always been poets, singers, painters, sculptors and potters who came from all corners of the world as Eberhard Schlotter or Spanish as well known as Marisol, Rafael Alberti, Francisco Vicente Blasco Ibanez, Josh Rouse ...

The streets descend slowly towards the sea, parochial and small houses, whitewashed since its construction, make it the      ideal place for relaxing vacation and retirement of many senior citizens who have found a paradise Altea. This maze of cobbled narrow and crooked streets with glimpses of the bay is one of the better features of the town. Other sights include the church of La Mare de Déu del Consol, easily identifiable by its picturesque blue and white domes, tiled with glazed ceramics.
